A fertilizer is an organic or inorganic material, natural or synthetic, that is added to a soil to supply plant nutrients essential to their growth.

We can clasificate them in inorganic, which are synthesized using one product that produces amonia, and in organic fertilizer, which come from organic materials like manure, worm castings, compost, seaweed or saltpeter.

But a use of fertilizers in excess can cause serious enviromental effects like: Eutrophication, Blue baby syndrome, soil acidification, persistent organic polluant, radioactive elment accumulation… The use of fertilizers contributes to Global Warming too, to the pollutants and soil degradation.

Deforestation (its influence on the Carbon Cycle and relation with Global warming)

Deforestation is the process made BY HUMAN that destroys forests due to cutting trees, fires to obtain wood or farming lands.

This process devastates habitats and alterates the carbon cycle how? well I will explain with this images

this should be normal carbon cycle plants take CO2 from the  atmosphere transform into nutrients and O2(photosynthesis) then animals eat nutrients from plants and O2 from atmosphere and transform into energy and CO2(respiration). by here is easy to understand and we had to add human

human produces more CO2 to the atmosphere by cars fabrics and other ones.

now is the moment to explain the effect of deforestation in the carbon cycle.

we cut trees so there are less ones to do photosynthesis and transformCO2into O2 and nutrients habitas are destroyed and animals dont survive then the CO2 expulsed by fabrics is acumulated into atmosphere this makes greenhouse effect increase, increasing the temperature of the earth and causing global warming.

what we have to do is reforestation that is replanting trees placing the older ones to maintain the habitat and keep on doing photosynthesis.

Greenhouse effect

Natural greenhouse effect

  1. Sunlight comes through the atmosphere and reaches the Earth.
  2. Invisible infrared radiation is reflected back to space.
  3. Some gases in the atmosphere (greenhouse gases) don’t let the radiation escape and reflect it back to Earth.
  4. The Earth keeps warm.

Anthropogenic greenhouse effect

Too much greenhouse effect

CO2 concentration in the atmosphere has increased due to an increased industrial activity (fossil fuel burning) and other human activities such as cement production and tropical deforestation. Elevated CO2 levels will increase global temperature.

Decomposers importance on the ecosystem.

Decomposers are organisms that break down dead o decaying organism. It use this to obtain their energy, carbon and nutrients for growth and development. In conclusion they use death organism or non-living organic compounds as their food source.

 The fungi on this tree are decomposers.

Decomposers are very important for any ecosystem. If they weren’t in the ecosystem, the plants would not get essential nutrients, and dead matter and waste would pile up.

Nitrogen cycle

The nitrogen cycle: Nitrogen in the atmosphere passes to the ground and there occurs the nitrogen fixation in the bacteria in the root nodules of legumes and in bacteria in soil. Then it takes ammonium and passes to another bacteria that is nitrifying. After that it takes nitrates and there are two options: or it passes to a bacteria that is denitrifying or it can assimilate by plants,in the first option the cycle willbegin again and in the second option it will pass to amino acids and proteins in plants and animals,after that it will pass to detritivores and it will turn into ammonium by decomposition.

Energy classification.

The energy classification is divided into two groups: renewable and non renewable energy.

– The renewable energy resource is energy extracted from natural sources like biomass, geothermal heat, tides, sun, wind which are naturally replenished. They can be replaced and generated with more “frequently.”

– The non renewable energy resource is a natural resource which cannot be generated, produced or use without caring it. Once it has finished, there isn’t remaining. They are consumed faster than the nature creates them.

Types of pyramids

The first pyramid I going to explain is the biomass piramid  is a graphical representation designed to show the biomass or biomass productivity at each trophic level in a given ecosystem.

The second pyramid is the energy piramid. An energy pyramid is the graphical representation of the trophic levels (nutritional) by which the incoming solar energy is transferred into an ecosystem.
