Archive for June, 2011
Congratulations, now the schoole year is over for you!
Enjoy your holidays after this hard work year, you deserve it.
Tio finish this blog I would like to thank you the effort you have done facing this technology and I want to share some statistics about our blog:
In the image you can see the monthly evolution of visits in our blog with a maximum for this last month of more than 2000 visits.
There is also a list with the search terms that people type in search engines to get to this blog (click on the image to enlarge).
We achieved – up to today June 21st_ the number of 9,343 visits in total to our blog with a peak of 186 views on our busiest day, it was on June 13 (2011).
This has been your work and this is your blog, feel free to keep it alive telling whatever you want or just let it here as it is now, for any one who find it useful.
See you, guys. Enjoy.
We have worked hard and finally we have achieved our objective. We are so happy to have finished the lessons. Our teacher has taught us lots of things and helped us.
And now it’s our turn, let’s go enjoy our holidays!! Happy summer! See you all next year!! =)
A fertilizer is an organic or inorganic material, natural or synthetic, that is added to a soil to supply plant nutrients essential to their growth.
We can clasificate them in inorganic, which are synthesized using one product that produces amonia, and in organic fertilizer, which come from organic materials like manure, worm castings, compost, seaweed or saltpeter.
But a use of fertilizers in excess can cause serious enviromental effects like: Eutrophication, Blue baby syndrome, soil acidification, persistent organic polluant, radioactive elment accumulation… The use of fertilizers contributes to Global Warming too, to the pollutants and soil degradation.
Al degradate soil by fertilizers.
The Carbon Cycle is a complex series of processes through which all of the carbon atoms in existence rotate. The carbon cycle was initially discovered byJoseph Priestley and Antoine Lavoisier.
Carbon returns to the atmosphere and water by
Carbon moves from the atmosphere to plants.
Carbon moves from plants to animals.
Carbon moves from plants and animals to the ground.
Carbon moves from living things to the atmosphere.
Carbon moves from fossil fuels to the atmosphere when fuels are burned.
Carbon moves from the atmosphere to the oceans.

Here is a game that explain the carbon cycle http://www.windows2universe.org/earth/climate/carbon_cycle.html
Beatriz Aznar Jarque
Deforestation is the process made BY HUMAN that destroys forests due to cutting trees, fires to obtain wood or farming lands.
This process devastates habitats and alterates the carbon cycle how? well I will explain with this images
this should be normal carbon cycle plants take CO2 from the atmosphere transform into nutrients and O2(photosynthesis) then animals eat nutrients from plants and O2 from atmosphere and transform into energy and CO2(respiration). by here is easy to understand and we had to add human
human produces more CO2 to the atmosphere by cars fabrics and other ones.
now is the moment to explain the effect of deforestation in the carbon cycle.
we cut trees so there are less ones to do photosynthesis and transformCO2into O2 and nutrients habitas are destroyed and animals dont survive then the CO2 expulsed by fabrics is acumulated into atmosphere this makes greenhouse effect increase, increasing the temperature of the earth and causing global warming.
what we have to do is reforestation that is replanting trees placing the older ones to maintain the habitat and keep on doing photosynthesis.
information: based on wikipedia and previous knowledge of carbon cycle.

why is a problem deforestation?
What can we do to prevent it??
WHAT IS ACID RAIN?
Is a term refering to the deposition of wet and dry acid components when it rains, snow fog…
WHO IT IS FORM?
Acid rain is componed by mallority sulfur dioxide, but it also have nitrogen oxides that reacs on water.
THIS PHOTO SHOWS HOW THE ACID RAIN IS FORMED
The consequences the acid rain has are:
1-Increases the acidity levels of rivers, lakes and seas. This can kill aquatic life.
2-Has been found to destroy the roots and leaves of many forests.
3-Can erode buildings and monuments
THIS PHOTO SHOWS AS THE FIRST PHOTO HOW THE ACID RAIN IS FORM BUT ALSO THE CONSEQUENCES IT HAVE
RELATION WITH NITROGEN CYCLE
In the nitrogen cycle some of the molecules reacts with sulfur dioxide and water to form acid rain.
I get this imformation from:
¿HOW IS ACID RAIN FORM?
¿HOW AFFECT ACID RAIN TO RIVERS AND AQUATIC MAMMALS?
Natural greenhouse effect
- Sunlight comes through the atmosphere and reaches the Earth.
- Invisible infrared radiation is reflected back to space.
- Some gases in the atmosphere (greenhouse gases) don’t let the radiation escape and reflect it back to Earth.
- The Earth keeps warm.
Anthropogenic greenhouse effect
Too much greenhouse effect
CO2 concentration in the atmosphere has increased due to an increased industrial activity (fossil fuel burning) and other human activities such as cement production and tropical deforestation. Elevated CO2 levels will increase global temperature.
- How temperature will increase in the future?
- Which type of greenhouse effect keeps the Earth at it optimum temperature?
